Global Hotel Network CEO Outlook
GHN: What is at the top of your Priority List for 2020?
Nassetta: 2020 is going to be an exciting year for Hilton. We’ve just marked the end of our 100th year of hospitality, and it was truly our most dynamic year yet. We have the best Team Members in the business gearing up to capitalize on that momentum and build on our incredible legacy of game-changing innovation, global growth, and industry-leading hospitality. We’re also doubling down on sustainable and inclusive growth with our goals to halve our environmental impact and double our social impact investments by 2030. All of that is powered by our Hilton family and the award-winning workplace culture we’ve created together.
GHN: Where do you see the greatest growth opportunities for Hilton?
Nassetta: We are truly living in a Golden Age of Travel – middle classes are growing around the world and more people than ever are traveling and craving unique experiences. That’s a huge business opportunity that we are rising to meet. Our global network is growing more quickly than ever – we are opening more than one hotel a day all around the world. We’re also expanding our industry-leading technology like Digital Key and Connected Room to more markets. That’s all underpinned by our commitment to support our communities and ensure they are resilient for generations to come. Ultimately, we are aiming to serve any guest, anywhere in the world, for any travel need they may have, and that’s a hugely motivating goal.
GHN: What is your general industry outlook for 2020?
Nassetta: I’m an optimist at heart. While there’s no denying that we’re seeing some choppiness in the global economy, I’m confident that our industry is well-positioned to continue serving guests around the world. At Hilton, we’re staying focused on creating exceptional experiences for our guests, delivering value for our owners and partners, and driving positive impact in our communities.
